Hansens Røkeri AS is a well-established manufacturer and full-service supplier of fresh and smoked fish of all kinds🐟 In 1933, Olaf Harris Hansen started importing salted salmon fillets in oak barrels. The fillets had a delicious red color, the price was favorable, and the product was well received. In addition to smoked salmon, the range was soon expanded to include smoked haddock, Greenland halibut and mackerel. Gradually, the smokehouse became the most important business, along with delicatessens for grocery stores, hotels and restaurants. Hansens Røkeri AS was run as a family business until I took over in 2009. This happened with no small amount of awe. The inherited expertise, the sense of excellent taste and the dedication to quality were to be followed up and developed further. At the same time, it was important to assert ourselves in the competition from other skilled players. To this day, we loyally follow the good old recipes. We only use sawdust from spruce and pine, along with crushed, dried juniper berries, and we get the raw materials from carefully selected suppliers. In the years to come, we will hold on to the Hansen family's craft traditions, to the delight of everyone who appreciates the best in seafood. -Morten Sire
