Indie Film OSLO - BERGEN- DISTRIBUTION is proud to be considered one of the leading documentary companies in Norway. We specialise in personal and challenging documentary films and series with strong visual identities, exploring a reality that never ceases to amaze us. Our main focus is international feature documentaries and high-end documentary series. Indie Film was established in 1998 in Oslo. Our team includes eight employees, including several producers, in-house directors and distributors, as well as a network of freelancers, allowing us to cover almost all aspects in filmmaking, from development to release. March 2023 Producer Thorvald Nielsen started the company Indie Film Bergen, with the ambition to build an exciting home for the strongest storytellers and projects in Norway’s second largest city, Bergen. We also have our own distribution arm; Indie Film Distribution, led by distributor Nora Bremer Øvrebø. Indie Film is a certified Eco-Lighthouse company. We use a managing system to provide us with tools to evaluate and measure our environmental footprint in every production and in the organization of our company. Hanssen), THE GARDNER, THE BUDDHIST AND THE SPY (2025, Håvard Bustnes), KYIV SOLOISTS (2025, Trond Kvig Andreassen), THE BICYCLY THIEF (2023, Simen Braathen), WELCOME TO NORWAY (2022, Karianne Berge), NO PLACE LIKE HOME (2022, Emilie Beck), YOUNG AND AFRAID (2021, Petter Aaberge&Sverre Kvamme). Recent Co-productions include Arthur Franck's THE HELSINKI EFFECT, Maria Stoianova's FRAGMENTS OF ICE (2024), Erik Gandini’s AFTER WORK (SE, 2023, Fasad), Erlend E. Mo’s JOURNEY TO UTOPIA (DK, 2020, Magic Hour Films).
