They saw a growing problem in the marine ingredients market: Product, such as salmon, were labeled «Norwegian», «salmon», or «wild-caught» without scientific proof to support those claims. At the same time, sourcing in global supply chains become more complex, conscious consumers demanded transparency, and food fraud was on the rise. Svein Erik and Erik knew science could provide the solution. Today, ORIVO enables companies to prove what their products truly contain (species) and where they come from (origin). We do this by using advanced NMR- and DNA-based technologies in our lab, combined with our reference database: One of the world’s most comprehensive databases for marine raw materials. This makes us the only company in the world offering this type of third-party origin verification. Our technology enables brands to strengthen supply chain transparency, ensure food authenticity, and meet growing traceability expectations from regulators, retailers, and conscious consumers.
