Psoriasis- og eksemforbundet (PEF) er en interessepolitisk pasientoganisasjon for mennesker med psoriasis, atopisk eksem, andre hudsykdommer og psoriasisartritt. Kronisk utrikaria og hudranitis suppurativa (HS), er to diagnoser vi har startet å arbeide med de senere år. Psoriasis- og eksemforbundet ble stiftet i 1962 og har i dag ca. 4.500 medlemmer. Vi har fylkeslag i alle landets 19 fylker, og 37 lokalforeninger spredt over hele landet. Hovedformålene med PEFs arbeid er: 1. Å gjøre psoriasis, atopisk eksem, andre hudsykdommer og psoriasis artritt kjent, forstått og akseptert i samfunnet. 2. At alle som har psoriasis, atopisk eksem, andre hudsykdommer og psoriasis artritt skal sikres behandlingstilbud over hele landet. 3. At forskningen omkring psoriasis, atopisk eksem, andre hudsykdommer og psoriasis artritt styrkes. 4. At gjeldende rettigheter opprettholdes og forbedres, og på medlemmenes vegne framsette krav om rettferdige ordninger som gir trygghet for den enkelte. 5. At medlemmene og andre får relevant informasjon om alle forhold som kan forbedre livskvaliteten. 6. At brukermedvirkning blir en realitet, slik at de interesser forbundet skal ivareta blir tatt hensyn til i beslutningsprosessene. 7. Å fremme nasjonalt, nordisk og internasjonalt samarbeide, og gjennom dette medvirke til utveksling av informasjon, styring av forskning og bedring av behandlingstilbud på tvers av landegrensene. Vi samarbeider tett med Psoriasis- og eksemforbundet ung (PEF-ung).
