Marthinsens sølvvarefabrikk, og ønsket å etablere egen gullsmedforretning. Rigmor og Anthony flyttet dermed fra Tønsberg til Lillestrøm for å realisere drømmen - noe som var helt tilfeldig ettersom de ikke hadde noen relasjoner til byen. Første butikken ble på noen få kvadratmeter i Brogaten 10 v/ Kulturhuset, der de måtte bo midlertidig på bakrommet. I 1969 ble butikken bygd ut til en flott gullsmedbutikk. I 1975 ble deres sønn Dag Anthony Sandberg utdannet som gullsmed, og samme året ble han uteksaminert med Diplom i Gemmologi, som landest yngste. I dag finnes det to Mestergull Sandberg butikker i Lillestrøm. I 1979 etablerte familien Sandberg seg med filial i Brøthergata. 2, som senere ble flyttet til Torvet 5 - der den er i dag. Butikken som idag er i Storgata 16 ble flyttet fra Brogata i 1980. Datter til Rigmor og Anthony, Anne Lene Sandberg ble utdannet gullsmed i 1988. Deres barnebarn og datter til Dag Sandberg, Helene Sandberg fikk sitt svennebrev i 2004. De andre barnebarna, Caroline, Henrik og Ane Sandberg har også jobbet i butikken i flere år. Gullsmed Anthony Sandberg har i over 50 år hatt som mål å yte best service og er meget opptatt av kvalitet på sine smykker, samt et bredt utvalg av smykkemerker; alt fra luksusbrands til rimelige alternativer. Derfor ble Gullsmed Sandberg medeier av Mestergull kjeden i 1977, slik at de i fellesskap, med 40-50 andre gullsmeder, kan få tilgjengelighet til det beste faget har å by på.
