Fra årsskiftet 1998/1999 endret EIVA AS sin strategi fra å være forhandler lokalt med 10 avdelinger og et leveringsprogram som i stor grad utføres av de større kjedene i dag. EIVA AS valgte å gå i dybden og fokusere på import på utvalgte områder hvor kravet til kompetanse, dokumentasjon, service og opplæring var mer typisk. Norsk Nødhjelp ble stiftet i 1990, da krisen i Romania og de grusomme forholdene som foreldreløse barn der levde under, ble kjent i Norge. Norsk Nødhjelp fokuserer på nærhet til prosjektene, direkte og responsiv bistand i form av finansiell og praktisk støtte. Hjelpen går fra hånd til hånd, enten symbolsk eller i praksis.
